George Wu Teng

George Wu Teng was born in 1995 in Manassas, Virginia.
He attended the Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, Massachusetts, where he was valedictorian.
He went on to attend McGill University, where he completed his Bachelor of Music in piano performance, with dual minors in English literature and psychology.
George completed his Master of Music at the Université de Montréal.
He is currently pursuing his doctorate at the Université de Montréal under the mentorship of Paul Stewart and Henry Kramer. George's writing has been published both online and in-print.
George's principal teachers include Kyoko Hashimoto, chair of piano at McGill University, Angel Ramón Rivera of the New England Conservatory,
Paul Orgel of the University of Vermont, and Yoshie Akimoto. He has also studied with Elinor Freer of the Eastman School of Music, and Douglas Humpherys,
Eastman's chair of piano.
